It's already happening with sports radio (see WFAN simulcasting on FM in NYC and ESPN Radio NYC moving from AM to FM). I think the trend is more likely to continue with sports radio than with conservative talk radio. Look at the demos -- sports radio's audience is younger than conservative talk. Presumably, the old folks who need their daily dose of outrage are old enough to know about the AM radio band and have hearing poor enough that high-fi FM is wasted on them.

Anyway, I'm surprised Clear Channel hasn't already swapped 1070 and 92.1. But then again, it's Clear Channel, so I guess I really shouldn't be surprised.
