Q was essentially Top 40 until flipping to country in the early 80s. Z had changed from WMFM, which had a tower on top of a building on Winnebago St (I believe) in the mid-70s. They called it the "eastside intercom" because of its wattage. Z was basically automated until the air staff was hired in 1980.
