I googled "AM radio FAQ Milwaukee" and your site came up so please excuse my question! I am new to the area, having just started off-air at Jammin' 98.3.
Today I was listening to Milwaukee AM radio and it started crackling and sometimes had an undertone of static. I seem to remember the crackling is lightning strikes and the electricity generated interferes with the AM signals. Am I right?
If so, what is the undertone of static / aka poorer reception than usual about? Do storms affect AM radio signals overall? How come this doesn't happen with FM?
Thank you! Hopefully I'll be able to contribute something when someone has a question. :)
