The point of WGLB is to serve the African-American Community, particularly those that prefer Gospel. That's the point. That's been the point since 1996. 1560's current day signal covers Milwaukee's African-American areas very well. It was setup that way.

What it doesn't cover is the "Racine" half of the Milwaukee-Racine market, which has a large African-American population. That entire area goes without any coverage at all. The reason for that is WZRK. They had to protect 1550, which covers (or now covered) that area:

At night, WGLB-AM's signal will remain the same. It points most of it's signal west into Waukesha County. Several times I've heard them run a non Urban Gospel program (A CCM show) on there after dark. It may have been brokered, or it may have been specifically targeting the areas it covers in Waukesha County after dark. WQEW walks all over it at night.

In their new coverage with more power, it will add coverage to Racine especially.
