I had the pleasure of working with Don Stephens (Rosen) in the early 80s at the then-wildly-successful WEZW FM 103.7 in Milwaukee. First owned by Woody Sudbrink, and then purchased by Multimedia (which owned radio, tv, newspaper and syndicated "The Phil Donahue Show."
The station was easy-listening, playing mostly instrumental covers of standards, and 3x 2-minute spot breaks per hour. The A25-54 was usually 2nd only to WTMJ. The station had a "no commercial jingles" policy, so we sold McDonalds flights, and then demanded LIVE COPY. I sold schedules to American TV, and then we re-voiced TV Lenny's spots to be less frenetic!
Don was one of the best known announcers on the station. And, a terrific guy to work with.
