Half the posts on this board are complaints about how the radio oligopoly runs things. I can't stand a lot of the programming on WPR, Central Time is about as exciting as warm chicken stock, but it is something different than I Heart Media or whatever those CC jerks are calling themselves this week.

Joy Cardin isn't the world's greatest host but I'll often listen to her as it is something on the dial in that slot other than idiotic drive-time or talk radio screamers.

Putting ideology ahead of practice is only going to kill this industry sooner. Radio is losing listeners to podcasts and satellite, keeping listeners on something local like WPR is good for everybody as it increases the chance they might flip the dial to another FM station when NPR has something boring on.
