MSNBC doesn't have an Ed Schultz, Alex Wagner, Toure, Krystal Ball problem. It has a leadership vacuum. Phil griffin has not defined who the audience is for the talent. How can you do a successful program without having a defined target audience in your head. Msnbc has been writhing about for years because of awful decisions made by Phil griffin. Remember when he hired Ronan Farrow for $660,000 a year, gave him a key daytime weekday time slot after Andrea mitchell, and basically said go get em tiger? The guy had zero broadcasting experience and griffin didn't even bother to put him into some kind of cable news boot camp to season him up. Know that channel slogan of 'lean forward' yet your morning show is conservative and regularly talks shit about the rest of the lineup? Remember when Phil griffin said to the trades 'we don't do breaking news' when asked why it didn't do more hard news on dayside? You don't do breaking news? That's literally all cable news is good for, the rest is just sides on the boston market plate of chicken. Sorry I'm craving boston market.
