Fox Business' ratings are so low that they aren't regularly featured in many ratings summaries that include HLN. HLN! gets higher ratings than Fox Business.
They saw a one day spike with the presidential debate in Milwaukee, and for the next 2 days they saw a dwindling off.
To put it into perspective--and I know this isn't a Fox Business thread, but Fox Business isn't even on many carriers. They were so worried about low ratings for the debate, that for debate day, FBN gave the network away for free to carriers, so it would appear in basic cable line-ups and boost their numbers. In a really brilliant negotiating strategy, the carriers uninterested in a free day of FBN for subscribers were lured by a bonus period of Fox News Channel for a lower subscription fee.
My unbiased opinion--having no conservative or liberal bias and being relatively uninterested in politics--is FBN's problem is that it's not a business network. They run it as Fox News Channel Lite, for the back-benchers who couldn't make it to the big kids table. CNBC rarely talks politics, and when it does, it's usually to discuss the impact a particular prospective policy would have on a facet of the economy.
For 6 years, Fox Business had Don Imus in the morning until June of this year.
