It 'failed' once (I'm not counting WTDY). And The Mic lasted twelve years. It finally met its demise because (a) there weren't many progressive talk shows left in syndication to round out the schedule, and (b) IHeart figured it could make a lot more money with classic hits. Political talk radio as a whole is doing poorly these days. WRRD will never be the top station in town. I'll be surprised if it cracks a one share overall. But it sounds like the folks who bought WRRD have a plan to make it work successfully as a business. They do have experience in this. If so, more power to 'em.
