The only area I can think of where IBOC has been a success has been broadcasters' creativity in getting translators for them. Look at Atlanta, where you have 3 different HD-fed translators drawing ~ 1+ share. Not a bad return on investment there for the HD channels. It's a gimmick (the bulk of the listening is via the translators), but presumably a revenue-generating gimmick.
