: Remember now that just because a station is a "flagship" doesn't mean that they would produce or even own the rights to the game. WAUK is the "flagship" of Marquette but their rights are owned by Nelligan sports. Same goes for UW. UW's rights are owned by Learfield. This is why WTMJ got rid of the flagship rights because they didn't see the payoff in paying all that to be the flagship yet have no rights outside of affliate money. : Now onto the rumor. I believe it to be true. Good Karma has worked pretty hard to take the market share in Madison and are doing surprisingly well in Milwaukee. But unlike the original post saying that it didn't make sense to do both, I disagree. It makes perfect sense if they were to get the flagship status of UW then to have that market share in Appleton and the Fox Valley would be a major coup. I do believe though that the UW deal isn't up with WIBA until the end of June 2011 so any new announcement with that wouldn't likely be made until the late 3rd quarter of the current fiscal year at the earliest. : : : Karmazin will rip the radio flagship right of the UW sports programming from Jeff Tyler's cold, dead hands. : : : : : Just heard from a major advertising player in the Fox Valley that said that Good Karma was near completion on a deal that would acquire WBHY and WSCO from Woodward. Would expand Good Karma into the Appleton/Green Bay area. While not surprising, the timing seems to be a bit off with the rumors that Good Karma is trying to acquire the radio flagship rights of the University of Wisconsin and you would think money might still be a little tight in this economy.
