Agreed that Madtown is the perfect market size to intern with potential to end up on the air. Unlikely however that your on-air role would be elevated to full time without first going elsewhere and coming back, unless you are very talented or very full of potential and a PD is willing to groom your every move. Now talent doesn't necessarily come into play. It's whoever's around that's the cheapest. Why pay a night jock $30k +benefits & remotes when you can promote Johnny Intern from his new p/t weekend shift to full time nights and offer him an upgrade to $8 per hr?

: You are an idiot! How did you get your start in radio? Were you an intern then got a shot to be on the air? Not all interns end up on the air, but in a market the size of Madison I would think that is were people get there start.
