I wouldnt say luck, the guy does have talent. But I despise him, and more so the suits, with every bone in my body. I can maaaaaybe see putting his midday show on in small markets where its between him and some voicetracked over worked PD. BUT IN WASHINGTON DC! Makes me ill. To see a major market talent let go for that cost cutting measure.
Get out now newbies, its a sinking ship, or get ready to never work in a market larger than 200.
I hope their is a special place in hell for the higer ups who green light this crap.
: Seriously, how lucky did Ryan Seacrest get? It seems like his success was overnight. I know he's a "brand" now and his image = pop culture in the eyes of listeners/viewers, but how many jobs is this guy going to take away from others? From Idol to his former daytime TV talk show, American Top 40 radio, E! daily hosting, Emmys, Oscars.
: Of course Z104 has got his new daily syndicated radio show on-air now. So do more than a dozen other markets. And not just small markets like Madison, major markets like Washington DC and others. These are prime daytime slots too.
: And people wonder why we jump on message boards like this one and complain our jobs are being taken away from us and radio just isn't what it used to be anymore.
