However, here in Madison I've had up and down reception both in my car and in my den. I think the smaller market budget and perhaps smaller market talented engineers may be to blame. I don't mean to sound snobby. I probably just did. Oh well. : I can assure you that it has nothing to do with small market budgets or talent. We spent a considerable amount of money turning on HD on WMMM. As I'm sure you're aware, HD signals are anywhere from 1 to 10% of the analog power. : I've found that there's a "sweet spot" with HD signals. Anything over about 150w works well. We're at 92w on WMMM - still not at the allowed upper limit, but that limit was raised after we installed the gear and it won't make the necessary 540w that we'd be allowed (at the time we installed it, we were allowed 54w). : In NY, most of the FM's and HD's transmit from the same place in the city, allowing for some consistency and blanket coverage.
