WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) reporter Mick Trevey's last day at the station is Friday
But Trevey is not just leaving WTMJ-TV. He's leaving broadcast journalism.
Trevey has joined CUNA Mutual Group, an insurance company with corporate headquarters in Madison, as senior communications strategist.
"Mick wants to stay in Wisconsin and spend more time with his young family, which reporting jobs make difficult," said Steve Wexler, vice president of radio and television operations for Journal Broadcast Group, in an email.
Trevey joined the station in 2005. He previously worked at WBAY-TV in Green Bay.
He graduated from Marquette University, where he majored in broadcasting and political science. He minored in theology, and spent a semester at the University of Nottingham.
Trevey shared a regional Emmy Award in 2003, and was honored by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for breaking news coverage in 2007.
Trevey is the sixth reporter to leave WTMJ-TV this year. Lauren Leamancyzk left last month to join WBZ-TV in Boston, which is a top 10 market.
Journal Communications owns the Journal Broadcast Group and publishes the Journal Sentinel.
