As much as I agree Q101 went south after the exit of Mancow, I don't think bringing him back - after dumping the format listeners were used to hearing him on - is going to do anything for the books. Mancow's show stunk on WLS, and I think listeners are confused as to who he is. Is he.. Mancow, titty bouncing bologna throwing shock jock, or is he right-wing douchebag on political talk radio?
: According to sources, the plans of Randy Michaels are to slowly turn WLUP-FM into a rock station focusing on the 80's. There will be some quick DJ changes, with some former Clear Channel names being tossed about as replacements. The plans for WKQX-FM will be more dramatic. Michaels will drop the Alternative Rock of Q101 and flip the station to talk. All current Q101 DJs will be bounced out, with the possible exception of the morning show of Sherman & Tingle. "Unlike many Clear Channel talk formats, which Randy Michaels had a hand in creating, weekdays will not have syndicated content, but will instead be all live & local. Michaels & those close to him have supposedly been interviewing many former Clear Channel employees for position within WKQX-FM over the last two weeks. The name of Mancow, the former Q101 morning personality, is also said to have been tossed about as morning show host at one of the two stations."
