CLEAR CHANNEL Country WMAD/MADISON has announced its new morning show of TRACY DIXON and MIKE HELLER. The new team replaces JOHN & TAMMY, who recently started in mornings at LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA Country KSON/SAN DIEGO (NET NEWS 6/8). DIXON has spent the last 12 years on morning at CLEAR CHANNEL Country KMFX (THE FOX)/ROCHESTER, MN and HELLER was already with the MADISON cluster on Sports WTSO-A.
WMAD OM/PD MIKE FERRIS said, “TRACY and MIKE will usher in a new day on AUGUST 22nd. MIKE HELLER will continue to host his afternoon sports talk show on sister station WTSO 1070 in addition to mornings on STAR COUNTRY.”
TRACY added, “I am thrilled to be joining the CLEAR CHANNEL team at STAR COUNTRY and want to thank all my friends and co-workers at 102.5 THE FOX for so many great years in ROCHESTER.”
HELLER said, “TRACY and I both felt an instant chemistry when we auditioned, and we just can’t wait to get started!”
Along with the new morning team, WMAD promotes evening personality ABBY ZELLMER to MD and hires former CLEAR CHANNEL Country WRIT/MILWAUKEE PM-drive host BRIAN O’NEIL as WMAD middays/Promotions Dir., replacing STEPHANIE PETERS, who is also headed to KSON. Brian’s first day on air is AUGUST 1st.
Finally, MIKE CONWAY joins as Online Content Director for WMAD and the other five MADISON cluster stations. MIKE will leave his current position as CLEAR CHANNEL MILWAUKEE Dir./Traffic Operation on JULY 29th and will also start his new duties on AUGUST 1st.
