HD Radio Technology developer iBiquity has been trying to widen its reach among Japanese carmakers, and at the January CES in Las Vegas it announced that HD Radio technology was part of the new Toyota Entune system. That infotainment system keys on a driver's smartphone or media player. Today's announcement goes further, saying that "Toyota will be offering HD Radio technology with the popular iTunes Tagging feature in their 2012 Camry model." Those models will be reaching dealer showrooms this Fall.
: Mad Radio seems to be off more than on lately. Last weekend, WIBA was in HD, but the HD2 signal was missing. This weekend (and yet this morning, there's no HD signal on WIBA at all.
: Also, I notice that Midwest Family has taken all of their stations off the station guide at the HD radio web site.
: Given the state of HD radio here in Madison, I would be hard-pressed to recommend HD radio to others. Doesn't seem to be much of a priority for the local groups here.
