WIBA-HD is still off the air. I realize it's a chicken-and-egg issue here -- there need to be more people with HD Radio receivers to justify the investment in HD Radio equipment, but the flip side is that there needs to be more content to make the investment in an HD Radio receiver worth it.
In this case, I think the onus is on the broadcasters to make the initial investment. That doesn't seem to be happening here.
I give Clear Channel credit for being a lot more committed to HD radio than any other group in town -- every one of CC's stations are running HD (well, except for WIBA AM and FM, at present). But I think in general, if you're going to do something, don't do it half-assed. For the last month, 101.5 HD has been off more than on. Put something up on the web page and let people know what's going on. Or better yet, don't leave things off the air for weeks at a time.
I would email the local folks at Clear Channel Madison, but in the past, that email has gone into a black hole, so I don't bother anymore.
