As someone who works in radio themselves, I can tell you exactly what's happening...it's a cost cutting measure by Clear Channel. Connie and Curtis are being replaced with Elvis Duran, a syndicated program from the Premium Choice feed -- the same way that Ryan Seacrest is syndicated in the afternoon. There's going to come a time when all corporate radio stations carry no local staff at all...and that's just sad.
Best of luck to both of you...you deserve so much better than to be dumped like this. Connie, thanks for making me laugh the past 12 years...I pursued my own work in radio as a personality much in part due to seeing how amazing, personal and easy you and Fish made it seem. Curtis...while we didn't get to know you as well, know that you made the transition post-Fish seamless. They couldn't have found a better guy.
