Left-wing organizations including "We Are Wisconsin" and "One Wisconsin Now" are also sending out emails to supporters asking them to sign the petition to 'give sly the Mic.' -- I received the following this morning from "We Are Wisconsin":
-- forwarded email --
As you may have heard, last week, WTDY AM 1670 let it’s entire staff go, including progressive radio host Sly, ending the 15 year run of the Sly in the Morning Show and silencing a true progressive champion.
But the story doesn’t have to end there.
Click here to send a message to Madison’s 92.1 radio and tell them to "Give Sly the Mic" by putting John "Sly" Sylvester back on the air as soon as possible.
Everyday that Sly is silent is a good day for Scott Walker as the right wing noise machine continues to spit their half-truths while a progressive perspective on important state and local issues is silent.
Don’t let the right wing be the only voice on our airwaves.
Tell 92.1 to “Give Sly the Mic!”
Sincerely,
Kristen Crowell
P.S. Sly was with us on the front lines in the winter of 2011 and throughout both rounds of recalls. Click here to say that you care about local, progressive voices on our airwaves and then FORWARD this to your friends and family.

Give. Me. A. Break. Instead of clicking on the petition link, I immediately clicked the "Unsubscribe" link. Buh-bye, "We Are Wisconsin," whoever you are.
I'm sorry, I know Sly has 2 or 3 fans out there, but as a loony leftist, I find Sly's over-the-top antics an embarrassment. Where to start on the list of outrages? 'Joking' that Lt. Gov Kleefisch "performed fellatio on all the talk show hosts in Milwaukee" and about her colon cancer? Suggesting Ald. Robbie Webber should be raped? Referring to Condoleeza Rice as Aunt Jemima?).
How Sly can hold himself out as THE radio voice of Wisconsin progressives when he is, in reality, a freaking neanderthal, is beyond me.
So, I could give a rat's ass whether Sly is on the air. Besides, anyone who knows anything about Cheap Channel knows there is a snowball's chance in hell of them actually spending money on a local show for the Mic.
