Yes. It was AC/Country hybrid station until 1989 when WBWI changed to full time country. Probably to fill the void when WHKQ Racine (now WEZY and ironically
WBWI's sister station.) changed to easy listening.
WBWI and WJVL used to share the same music logs, branding, logo and jingle package in the 1990s. (from what I heard on JVL's webstream on Sundays, it was Thompson Creative's Cleveland's Country) From what I have researched, Ken Scott was the MD for both stations for that time. They used (and still have) similar sized logos. WBWI broke away from WJVL's style when Mike Elliott and Fuzz Martin came on board in 2000-01. They still used the Pure Country branding for a few years until October 2004. I still have the TM Century Philly's Country WXTU package from 01-04 in my head all these years later. : ) I welcome any additions or corrections to the above notes.
I used to be a distant WBKV listener, but 1460's upgrade has made BKV's fairly weak daytime signal (at least in North Milwaukee where I am) unlistenable. And 92.5's signal when I'm in the car has become very snowy since the transmitter collapsed. Used to be pretty good for a rimshot.
