TMJ4 adds 6:30pm newscast

Just what we need. More TV News from Today's TMJ4, On Your Side. They totally didn't have enough coverage of the same news from the previous half hour and the hour before that and the hour before that and the hour before that.

Dudek says:

WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) is adding a local weekday newscast at 6:30 p.m. effective Monday, the station confirmed Tuesday.

It will be a "fresh newscast" that will be anchored by the regular 6 p.m. anchors Carole Meekins and Mike Jacobs. It will be the only local newscast airing at 6:30 p.m.

WTMJ-TV is exploring adding some "new elements and stories" to the program along the way, said Steve Wexler, vice president of radio and television for Journal Broadcast Group, which owns the station.

The new newscast moves "Access Hollywood" to 1:30 a.m., just in time for the Oscars.
