...Conservative talk radio does still exist, much like it still does today, even after most pundits predicted that "Rush Limbaugh couldn't exist without Bill Clinton to kick around." So long as there is an audience that feels it is under-served in other forms of media, content producers with conservative philosophies will be there to fill the void.
Will it be on AM radio? Maybe, but also on TV, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and whatever other message delivery platform exists in 10 years.
I agree that music will be long gone on the AM dial; even Spanish language music will have found a home on the internet/mobile devices.
By 2023, sports talk may indeed dominate the brand, so long as 10 years earlier, Fox Sports, CBS, and NBC didn't saturate the market in a mad dash to compete with ESPN. Besides, sports talk done well is sports talk done locally. How can broadcasters justify the salary needed to lure the top talent to a station with a 1.0 share?
And, yes, religious stations will still exist.
Your analysis is for the most part spot on, but I personally believe that conservative talk will have a much bigger presence than you think it will.
