Because anyone who has actually been on the radio realizes that it's like cocaine: It's terrible for you but you just can't leave it.
You talk to thousands of people everyday. People who think you're the coolest person on the planet. Even in 2013. You give away cool shit and see people's reaction for it. You get to listen to music at full blast in the studio and everyone thinks it's awesome.
It's one of those jobs that you love. The pay sucks, but every day you come home and can't wait to go back the next day.
Sure, other jobs pay better. You can be a drone and work the 9 to 5. But radio is a unique industry, and takes unique people. As I said, the best rise to the top. They can make good money too. The others, go on to be corporate dones.
