Lived in Kenosha most of my life.
Now with digital TV. I never really used OTA, but I have tried it over the years. The antenna I usually use is a cheap $4.99 Radio Shack "Bowtie" antenna. Google it. It's a UHF-Only antenna. It's a good antenna, especially if you can't afford or don't have the ability to install an outdoor antenna. It's also a very simple UHF antenna.
The easiest DTV stations to get here:
WTMJ 4
WITI 6
WISN 12
WVTV 18
WCGV 24
WMVT 36
WPXE 55
WDJT 58
With a better antenna adjustment, you can get WMLW (49), WBME-LD 41, WYTU-LD 63, WVCY 30. With a VHF antenna you can get WBWT 68 and WMVS 10.
In regards to Chicago, it used to be a lot easier to get Chicago stations when TV was analog. Now, you have to try much harder. But with a simple setup, I can get WLS 7, WGN 9, WTTW 11, WFLD 32 WPWR 50. Most everything else from Chicago is a challenge. If I had a rooftop antenna, I could probably do much better with both markets.
Some people here have 2 antennas for DTV. One facing south toward Chicago, another NE toward the antenna farm in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee TV by far has better coverage in Kenosha than Chicago TV. I think WDJT and WPXE have the best signals here overall. They don't take much effort to lock in. WPXE better, as it's licensed to Kenosha. WTMJ is also pretty easy.
I should be clear, I DO NOT have an outdoor antenna.
