That personality is Phil Anderson. He's been with 1290 for years. Playing Blues. He was one of the few held over from the previous format. It's live.

As for the station itself, they added a few commercials and some traffic reports. It's based off their half sister in Reno. KZTI.

There's been a number of stations with a format like this over the years. "Neo-Standards" is the term.
