This one's at 99.5 FM and is actually in Waunakee, with little if any coverage in the city of Madison itself. 120 watts, and at only 18 meters AGL. This is the second translator approved in Madison in the last few months -- back in November, Clear Channel was given a CP for a translator on 100.9 running 250 watts, and at 200m AGL, so it will have much better coverage of the metro area.
The interesting thing about the 99.5 CP is that it lists WTLX (ESPN Madison, 100.5 FM) as the primary station. The FX owner is "Sister Grace, Inc." Does Sister Grace own any actual radio stations? Seems like a company that just flips translator CPs.
So, thoughts on whether this translator is really for Good Karma, and if so, what will they put on it? WTLX's coverage should be fine in the area the FX covers, so it seems silly if the plan is to really simulcast 100.5. And WTLX is not running HD, so they don't currently have an HD2 they could feed a translator with. But Good Karma could simulcast their ESPN Deportes station (WTTN, Columbus)? It's too bad this translator won't have better coverage in Madison -- maybe they could have used it to simulcast WWHG (105.9 FM, Evansville).
