Journal Broadcast Group Launches “Radio League” Streaming Music App
Milwaukee, Wis. – Journal Broadcast Group has launched a new streaming music app known as “Radio League.” The app is filled with free, high quality, locally programmed streaming music stations and can be downloaded for iOS and Android devices at http://radioleague.com. Radio League features six music stations including Country, Top 40, Adult Alternative and Christian Hits. The app is now available at radioleague.com and in the App Store and Android Marketplace. J. Pat Miller, Director of Marketing & Innovation for Journal’s Milwaukee Radio Operations, created Radio League to offer listeners more choices in a locally programmed and convenient app. “Digital now enables us to provide our audience more music entertainment than any other Milwaukee broadcaster,” said Journal Broadcast Group Vice President for Interactive Michael Gay. “We’re proud to be the home of this great radio program, and look forward to having even more stations join the league in the future.” “Our business model is focused on strong local brands. Our mission is to build options and unique user experiences that tie directly to local partners and life here in Wisconsin,” said Tom Langmyer, Vice President & General Manager of Journal Broadcast Group’s Milwaukee Radio Operations. All Radio League stations fit inside a free app and offer streaming listeners a competitive choice that is different from on-air stations and nationally syndicated products. The Radio League flagship is adult hits, 94.5 The Lake, one of Milwaukee’s highest-rated radio stations. The Lake’s flagship status includes on-air promotion for the app and two custom radio stations within the Radio League: Variety and Totally 80’s. The Radio League will engage its audience through social media and add new stations to the League in the future. The free app is currently available in the Apple App Store and Android Marketplace. More information about the app and links to the download sites are available at radioleague.com.
