What is the history in Wisconsin radio - Madison, Green Bay or Milwaukee specifically, but other places too - on radio talk show hosts going on missions to get someone elected? Every conservative talker from WISN and WTMJ are lobbying for Sheriff David Clarke, a Democrat, and they're telling listeners to vote in the Democrat primary to undercut the Dem race for Sheriff in Milwaukee County. They're also all telling listeners to vote against Gwen Moore and other Dems on the primary ballot. This strikes me as being unethical and maybe improper.
Then there's Vicki McKenna on WISN (and WIBA). Chris Moews (David Clarke's opponent) wrote a letter to Belling, Sykes, Wagner and Weber, scolding them for what he said was distributing lies on their programs about his position on illegal immigration. Anyone with a careful ear and eye noticed who's left off that list -- Vicki McKenna. McKenna is as high in the ratings as anyone else, but Chris Moews knew to not even "go there" with her because she's such a shill for David Clarke, a Democrat. I keep saying a Dem, because all these talk show hosts are conservative. I don't want to be overtly political in this thread, I want to focus more on the fact that Vicki McKenna has made David Clarke her virtual co-host for the last several years, and she spends hours each month talking him up during the time he isn't on her airwaves. David Clarke is also a fill-in host on WISN radio.
I am from Iowa, probably one of the most political places in the country, and I've never heard a radio host or group of hosts that are so adamant about trying to get and keep a local sheriff elected. Anything else like this in other parts of the state now or in the past? Jeremy or Paul?
