You need to ID what is says on your license. If there is an AM, you get a -FM suffix on your license. If the AM goes away, and you don't file to remove the -FM, it still remains on your license, and must ID as such. This is the case for WWQM. Long ago 1550 was WWQM AM, and since the change nobody has filed to remove the -FM from WWQM.
So, even though there is no other service with WWQM call letters, because WWQM-FM is on the license, that's how their legal ID should be read. Anything else is not correct. A lot of stations get this wrong.
: : I don't believe you need to identify "AM" or "FM" if there is not a station on the opposite band with the same call letters. WTMJ in Milwaukee is just "WTMJ Milwaukee" as there is not a WTMJ-FM.

: I think this was the belief that turned out to be incorrect in the case of WMYX but I may be mistaken. It's whatever is printed on the license AFAIK.
