I don't disagree with the earlier comment about hating when PD's do soft transitions. We should cut Fletcher some slack, though. He's probably still trying to find the supplies and his office. Perhaps it could be said he should have waited to do anything for when he was actually ready to do it all (voice guy, imaging liners, etc.) but that's a different discussion.
The thing that jumped out at me from the original post (assuming there is no moniker attached to that phrase) is was what the hell does "Today's Q106" mean? How does a listener quantify that? Years ago it was "Madison's Country Q106" which said everything - format, city, identity. Also, curious if being "Today's Q106" means dropping all of yesterday's music like the Eagles and such. Essentially eradicating the John Sebastian tweaks.
: I hate when PDs do weak transitions like that. Just lay it all out there at once. Like Obama announcing that he's going to announce a plan soon.
: : Anyone notice the minor(?) change on Q106 this week? The DJ's are identifying the station as "Today's Q106," no longer emphasizing the "Q" or the full frequency. It's kind of a split personality situation, though; John Sebastian's old voice-of-doom-style "Q106.3" liners are still in place. Any thoughts?
