I agree that your message is well crafted and tries its best to polish a bad situation. But in doing so, you invite not 1 but 2 potential tune outs of your brand to other outlets. Especially to your top format competitor 93.1 Jamz. Both do significantly more damage to the brand and station (my opinion) than not engaging complaints publicly on FB. Field them privately so you can almost copy and paste YOUR response to them and people won't see it as fake. I mean, really, how many times/ways can you craft the same kind of message to the 43rd wall post about "What happened to C & C?" before it looks disingenuous?
What would I have done? If Z104 were my station I would do exactly what they've done. BUT the better play (IF C&C are still under contract in any way) would have been to send them off in a farewell fashion playing "thanks for 8 great years" or whatever it was and running vingettes for a few weeks with best of show clips and thanking them/wishing them well. I'm sure there are airchecks in the Clear Channel system to have built those from. That way YOU control the "send off" and spin it positively on-air while simultaneously announcing the new show starting on X day. And if they're under contract, they can't shit talk you on their FB page or they risk losing that $. If their NOT under contract, you can still thank them just not run their audio. They'd have to get a lawyer, send Clear Channel a C&D for using the Connie & Curtis name and by then it would have accomplished it's goal anyhow.
